Epilogue

September 2001

The next day I started disassembling my bike. Fed the lizard again. Played some more Trivial Pursuit. I don't want to talk about it.

Eric came over, and we went over to Berkeley. Wandered around the campus. Went up the tower.

Then we collected Derek and Tara and went for Thai food. Three friends of Erik joined us, which made Derek feel a little better, since it was looking like I would have to pay for practically no one. I think the dinner conversation of DNA overwhelmed Derek and Tara.

Then I finished packing while Derek and Tara watched Tom Jones.

Airplane at sunsetIn the morning Derek and Tara went off to work, and I waited for the shuttle. They pick you up way too early. When I got to the airport there were only two people at the Air Canada counter, and they were trying to take off, because there were no flights in the immediate future. At least they let me check in, and get rid of the bike.

I grabbed some breakfast, and wandered the airport. They had a display of antique bike lights. Oil lamps and such from the 1800s.

The flight back was uneventful, and I had no problems with customs.

Ursula was there to meet me.
