Day 8

Marin Headlands to Oakland

10.0 Miles

In the morning it was still socked in. I packed up and did my hostel chore; sweeping up the laundry room.

Seals at Fisherman's WharfI could see pretty much nothing of the bridge as I cycled across. I cycled to Fisherman's Wharf, where I ran into Wayne waiting for his ferry. Found out where my ferry left. Went to call Derek, but the pay phone wasn't working, and the ferry left while I was fighting with the phone. So I spent a couple of hours bumming around Fisherman's Wharf waiting for the next ferry.

Got off in Oakland, and rode to Derek and Tara's new house. They let me stay in the guest room, also known as the garage. We went to feed the lizard, and then Tara drove us to Berkeley, where I picked up a bike box. Then Derek and I saw Jay and Silent Bob. It wasn't very good. We walked back through Berkeley, and caught the bus home.

Played some Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. It wasn't a pretty sight.
